Thank you for considering submission to the Southern University Journal of Race, Gender & Poverty.
The Journal is committed to publishing clear, concise and readable articles. Throughout the editorial process, our student editors work to provide the author with stylistic and substantive feedback, while preserving the author’s vision, personal style and voice.
Permitted Methods of Submission: Electronic submission through ExpressO is strongly preferred. If submission via email is necessary, please send your article to JRGP@sulc.edu. Submissions should appear in Microsoft Word format.
Citation Format: Citations must conform to the 20th edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation. Footnotes are strongly preferred over endnotes.
Length Limitations: We strongly prefer articles between 20-50 pages in length, exclusive of footnotes. Length in excess of 50 pages will weigh significantly against selection.
Abstract: Contributors are also asked to provide a brief cover letter and an abstract of their submission.
Withdrawal: We appreciate if you are able to inform us as soon as possible should you decided to withdraw your article from consideration.
All inquiries concerning article submissions should be directed to Articles Editor Alonna Murray at Alonna_Murray@sulc.edu.
