SULC 2018 Commencement Exercises

The Southern University Law Center introduced its 83rdclass into its rich legacy of lawyer leaders on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the F. G. Clark Activity Center.  Attorney and president-elect of the American Bar Association, Judy Perry Martinez, delivered an inspiring address to 123 graduates of the Law Center.

In addition to those participating in commencement exercises, Chancellor John K. Pierre conferred two posthumous degrees to third year law students, Marquita Christy and Lisa Carral and awarded one honorary degree to Reverend Joseph Hayden of Maryland.

Reverend Joseph Hayden accepts his honorary degree from Chancellor John Pierre, Chair of the Board of Supervisors, Ann Smith and President-Chancellor, Ray Belton.

The Law Center also recognized, as its Golden Alumnus, Attorney Robert Eames who became a part of the SULC legacy 50 years ago. Mr. Eames graduated and embarked on a career as an advocate for civil rights.
